İstanbul – Princes’ İslands Tour
Istanbul's green paradise; Princes’ Islands...
The Princes’ Islands are a chain of nine rather small islands in the Sea of Marmara. They evolved from a place of exile during the Byzantine era, to a popular destination for tourists and Istanbulites alike to escape the hectic city life for a day. Of those nine islands, only four of them are open to the public: Büyükada, the biggest and most popular, Burgazada, Heybeliada and Kınalıada.

Tour Highlights
Heybeliada (island), named for the “saddle” or low place between its hills, is Istanbul‘s second-largest island at 2.35 square km. Less crowded than Büyükada, Heybeliada has many of its larger neighbor’s pleasures, including narrow beaches, pine forests for strolling, fine late 19th-century villas and other buildings, a waterfront promenade, and no motor vehicles.
Büyükada (Big Island) is the largest of the Princes' Islands in the Sea of Marmara, near Istanbul, with an area of about 2 square miles (5 square kilometres). It is officially a neighbourhood in the Adalar district of Istanbul Province, Turkey. Büyükada consists of two peaks. The one nearest to the ferry landing, İsa Tepesi (meaning Jesus Hill in Turkish), Formerly Hristos, is topped by the former Greek orphanage, a huge wooden building now in decay. In the valley between the two hills sit the church and monastery of Agios Nikolaos and a former fairground called Luna Park.
