İstanbul Old City - Walking Guide Tour - Summary

You will be picked up from your hotel by our shuttle service around 09:00  in the morning. (There may be some changes in the service time depending on the location of your hotel.) We will discover the magnificent nature and history of İstanbul on Walking Guide Tour, which will continue with an English guide. After visiting Hippodrome Square, Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, we will take a break for lunch. All entrance fees and lunch are included in the price of İstanbul Old City Walking Guide tour. In the second part of the tour, we will end our tour by visiting the Topkapı Palace and Grand Bazaar. When the walking guide tour is over, you will be transferred to your hotel with our shuttle service. Tour end time is approximately between 16.00-17.00. During the tour, according to your preference, the English or Spanish guide will tell you the history, stories and culture of the city in detail.

The Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet Camii) is an historical mosque in Istanbul. The mosque is known as the Blue Mosque because of blue tiles surrounding the walls of interior design.Mosque was built between 1609 and 1616 years, during the rule of Ahmed I. just like many other mosques, it also comprises a tomb of the founder, a madrasa and a hospice.Besides still used as a mosque, the Sultan Ahmed Mosque has also become a popular tourist attraction in Istanbul.

Hippodrome Square is an open-air museum with various monuments from different periods. Originally the Hippodrome was the stadium where the Roman chariot races took place. It was also the center of civil life in the city, where many political demonstrations took place. Built initially in the beginning of 3rd century AD by Roman Emperor Septimus Severus, was rebuilt during the reign of Constantine the Great in the 4th century. Today, only three monuments remain from the Roman era: Egyptian Obelisk, Serpent Column, Roman Obelisk

The German Fountain, is a gazebo styled fountain in the northern end of old hippodrome Square, Istanbul, Turkey and across from the Mausoleum of Sultan Ahmed I. It was constructed to commemorate the second anniversary of German Emperor Wilhelm II's visit to Istanbul in 1898. It was built in Germany, then transported piece by piece and assembled in its current site in 1900. The neo-Byzantine style fountain's octagonal dome has eight marble columns, and dome's interior is covered with golden mosaics.

Hagia Sophia is a former church and museum and declared as one of the world’s greatest architectural works and accepted as the 8th wonder of the world. Built as a church in 325, Hagia Sophia was rebuilt in 537 and was converted into a mosque by Fatih Sultan Mehmet after the conquest of Istanbul in 1453.

The Grand Bazaar  in Istanbul is one of the largest and oldest covered markets in the world, with 61 covered streets and over 4,000 shops on a total area of 30,700 m2, attracting between 250,000 and 400,000 visitors daily. In 2014, it was listed No.1 among the world's most-visited tourist attractions with 91,250,000 annual visitors. The Grand Bazaar at Istanbul is often regarded as one of the first shopping malls of the world.

Topkapı Palace, Ottoman imperial palace it served as the main residence and administrative headquarters of the Ottoman sultans: Topkapı Palace and Harem (Topkapı Sarayı) are likely to have more colourful stories than most of the world's museums put together. Libidinous sultans, ambitious courtiers, beautiful concubines and scheming eunuchs lived and worked here between the 15th and 19th centuries when it was the court of the Ottoman empire. A visit to the palace's opulent pavilions, jewel-filled Treasury and sprawling Harem gives a fascinating glimpse into their lives.
